Art is Dead: Long Live Art

New Galleries Prove NYC Art Scene is Not Dead After All
You just need to know where to find them.
The total number of galleries in New York City is down, but only slightly from the peak.
If you look back to 1802 there were only two galleries in the City.
What many view as they hey-day of art in NYC, the 1960s there is also no comparison with more than 400% increase in galleries in the City since then.
Galleries may be closing in some sections of the City…
the Lower East Side is gaining as the city’s art epicenter.
So art lovers, rejoice! You can still go to the City to see amazing works of art. You just might have to venture into slightly new territory.
